MANAGING PARTNER – PERSONAL INJURY | WORKERS’ COMPENSATION | CIVIL LITIGATION
Meet Steven T. Mandelaris
When a serious accident changes your life, choosing the right attorney may be one of the most important decisions you make. Medical bills begin to accumulate. Insurance companies immediately start investigating and evaluating the claim. Questions about your health, employment, and financial future can quickly become overwhelming.
During this time, you deserve more than a law firm that simply processes cases. You deserve an attorney who will personally prepare your claim, communicate with you throughout the process, and advocate for the best possible outcome.
Steven T. Mandelaris is a Denver personal injury and workers’ compensation attorney who has represented injured individuals and families throughout Colorado since 2006. As the founder and Managing Partner of Mandelaris Law, LLC, Steven focuses his practice on serious personal injury claims, automobile accidents, commercial trucking collisions, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death, catastrophic injuries, premises liability, insurance bad faith, uninsured and underinsured motorist claims, and Colorado workers’ compensation disputes.

More Than 20 Years Representing Injured Coloradans
Throughout his legal career, Steven has litigated more than 170 matters in Colorado state, federal, administrative, and appellate proceedings. He has successfully resolved hundreds of additional claims through strategic negotiation before filing a lawsuit became necessary.
His litigation experience allows him to evaluate each case with both settlement and trial in mind. Steven recognizes that the strongest settlements are often achieved through careful investigation, credible evidence, and meticulous preparation rather than last-minute negotiation.
Mandelaris Law has recovered more than $25 million for its clients. These recoveries include matters involving motor vehicle collisions, catastrophic injuries, workers’ compensation claims, third-party liability claims, uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, insurance disputes, and wrongful death. You can review examples on the firm’s Colorado personal injury case results page.
Every case is different, and prior results do not guarantee or predict the outcome of any other matter.
Direct Attorney Involvement in Every Case
Unlike firms that measure success by the number of files they handle, Mandelaris Law deliberately maintains a limited caseload. This approach allows Steven to work directly with each client, oversee the legal strategy, and devote the time necessary to prepare every case thoroughly from the beginning.
Steven personally evaluates the available insurance coverage, material evidence, medical documentation, damages, litigation risks, and settlement strategy. When a case requires litigation, he remains directly involved in pleadings, discovery, depositions, expert development, mediation, and trial preparation.
Clients are not treated as file numbers or routinely passed from one department to another. They receive direct attorney involvement, straightforward advice, and regular communication about the decisions affecting their claims.
Personal Injury and Insurance Claims
Steven represents individuals and families in claims involving:
- Colorado car accidents
- Commercial truck and company-vehicle collisions
- Motorcycle accidents
- Bicycle accidents
- Wrongful death claims
- Catastrophic and permanent injuries
- Dangerous property and premises liability claims
- Colorado workers’ compensation claims
- Uninsured and underinsured motorist claims
- Insurance bad faith and unreasonable delay or denial
- Cases involving overlapping personal injury, workers’ compensation, and insurance claims
Steven’s experience is particularly valuable in cases involving multiple sources of insurance coverage, workers’ compensation subrogation interests, commercial defendants, disputed medical causation, permanent impairment, future medical care, and significant economic losses.
Business Experience That Strengthens His Legal Practice
Before beginning his legal career, Steven held corporate positions with General Motors and Qwest Communications, where he worked in engineering operations, production control, logistics, supply chain management, and strategic business operations. He was responsible for coordinating complex manufacturing and operational initiatives that required sophisticated planning, cross-functional leadership, contract analysis, risk management, and data-driven decision making. His work involved balancing competing priorities, optimizing operational efficiency, and solving high-impact business challenges in fast-paced corporate environments.
At General Motors, Steven worked in the Engineering Production Control and Logistics Group, where he supported vehicle development throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. He developed and implemented an innovative inventory system for prototype vehicle development, supervised four prototype builds across three automobile assembly plants, and gained extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, material flow optimization, procurement, and global supply chain strategy. At Qwest, Steven worked in its Database Marketing and Business Intelligence Group for Global Markets and its Global Procurement and Supply Chain Group, serving as a lead liaison among engineering, marketing, sales, senior executives, and Fortune 500 vendors to evaluate complex performance metrics and develop business process improvement programs.
This corporate experience provided Steven with an uncommon perspective that continues to distinguish his legal practice. He understands how large organizations evaluate risk, make financial decisions, negotiate claims, and resolve disputes. Today, he applies that same strategic mindset to every personal injury and workers’ compensation case, carefully analyzing liability, damages, insurance coverage, medical evidence, and litigation strategy to maximize each client’s recovery.
Broad Litigation and Advocacy Experience
Before founding Mandelaris Law, Steven practiced with several respected Colorado boutique litigation firms, where he represented clients in a wide range of civil litigation matters, including personal injury, workers’ compensation, insurance disputes, commercial litigation, medical malpractice, employment law, criminal defense, and administrative proceedings. Litigating cases across multiple practice areas gave him practical experience evaluating claims, developing case strategy, negotiating settlements, taking depositions, and preparing matters for trial. That experience continues to influence the way he prepares every case today.
Early in his legal career, Steven served as a Judicial Law Clerk with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), where he worked on complex federal employment matters. His work involved researching and analyzing claims arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Equal Pay Act, and other federal employment statutes. He drafted legal memoranda addressing dispositive motions, analyzed extensive factual records, and assisted with decisions involving significant employment disputes. His work included preparing the memorandum recommending certification of a class action involving allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation against the United States Bureau of Prisons, as well as recommendations concerning summary judgment in litigation involving the Department of Homeland Security.
Steven also practiced with a Colorado litigation firm that served as General Counsel to the Fraternal Order of Police. As part of that representation, he worked on matters involving Colorado law enforcement officers, first responders, and public safety professionals in critical incident response, disciplinary proceedings, internal affairs investigations, administrative hearings, appeals, and related litigation. Those cases required careful preparation, detailed review of investigative files, witness examinations, legal research, and persuasive advocacy in proceedings where careers and professional reputations were often on the line.
These experiences provided Steven with a unique perspective that benefits his clients today. Having worked on matters involving judges, government agencies, insurers, businesses, and law enforcement professionals, he understands how complex cases are evaluated from multiple viewpoints. He prepares every personal injury and workers’ compensation case with the expectation that it may ultimately be presented to a judge or jury, while always working toward the most favorable resolution through negotiation whenever possible.

Questions Clients Frequently Ask:
Why did you become a personal injury attorney?
My decision to become a personal injury attorney is personal. While I was in college, I was involved in a serious T-bone collision. That experience gave me an early understanding of how suddenly an accident can disrupt a person’s health, daily life, and sense of security.
I became a personal injury attorney because I wanted to help individuals and families through some of the most difficult times in their lives. After an accident, people are often dealing with pain, uncertainty, mounting medical bills, and insurance companies focused on minimizing claims. Having experienced a serious collision myself, I understand that an injury claim is not simply a file or a case number. It involves a real person whose life may have changed without warning.
I believe every client deserves an attorney who is prepared, accessible, and willing to fight for the best possible outcome. My goal is to guide clients through the legal process, protect their interests, and help them regain a measure of stability and control.
Will I work directly with you?
Yes. When you hire Mandelaris Law, you work directly with me. I intentionally maintain a selective caseload so I can personally prepare each case, communicate with my clients throughout the process, and remain actively involved from the initial consultation through settlement or trial.
What types of cases do you handle?
My practice focuses on personal injury and workers’ compensation matters throughout Colorado, including car accidents, commercial truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, wrongful death claims, insurance bad faith disputes, and serious workplace injuries.
What makes your practice different?
I intentionally maintain a limited caseload so I can devote the time each client deserves. Every case receives personal attention, careful preparation, and a litigation strategy tailored to the client’s unique circumstances. Clients work directly with me, not through layers of staff or case managers. I believe preparation drives results, whether negotiating a settlement or presenting a case in court.
Have you handled jury trials and litigation?
Yes. During more than twenty years of practice, I have represented clients in state, federal, and administrative courts throughout Colorado. My experience includes complex civil litigation, jury trials, administrative hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and appeals. I prepare every case as though it may ultimately be presented to a judge or jury.
What experience did you have before founding Mandelaris Law?
Before opening my own practice, I worked with respected Colorado litigation firms representing clients in personal injury, workers’ compensation, commercial litigation, insurance disputes, medical malpractice, employment law, and administrative proceedings. Earlier in my career, I served as a Judicial Law Clerk with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and worked on matters involving the Fraternal Order of Police while practicing with a firm serving as its General Counsel. Before entering the legal profession, I also held corporate positions with General Motors and Qwest Communications, where I developed experience in engineering, supply chain management, corporate operations, strategic planning, contract analysis, and complex problem-solving.
Where did you attend law school?
I earned my Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2006, graduating in the top 20 percent of my class. While in law school, I served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Transactional Law and was a member of both the Business Law Society and the Student Trial Lawyers Association.
Do you represent clients throughout Colorado?
Yes. I represent injured clients across Colorado. Whether your accident occurred in Denver, the Front Range, the mountains, or anywhere else in the state, my office can discuss your case and explain your legal options.
What do you enjoy outside the office?
Outside the practice of law, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two children, skiing, riding dirt bikes, traveling, and exploring Colorado’s mountains.
I have completed multiple marathons, including the New York City Marathon, the Athens, Greece Marathon, the Dublin, Ireland Marathon, the Ventura Marathon, and the San Francisco Marathon. I am also a former competitive mogul skier.
